I bought my first camera in 2018 and it’s been within arm's reach ever since.

I didn't start with weddings. I started in college, filming action scenes and comedy skits, figuring out how to make things look cinematic and fun. Eventually, that energy turned into shooting portraits and couples, but I still approach every shoot with that director's mindset.

The real reason Mad Dock Media exists?

I started out shooting weddings under the "industry standard" model, and I quickly realized it was broken. I remember looking at the run sheet
“Coverage ends: 9:00 PM.”

I looked around the room. The ties were coming off, the shots were coming out, and the dance floor was finally packed. The best stuff was just starting to happen, and we were instructed to pack up gear and go home.

It didn't sit right with me.

I realized you can't put a time limit on a wedding day. You can't tell a couple, "Sorry, your grandma doing the worm isn't in the budget."

That’s why I don’t count hours. I stay until we get the shot, the story, and the party.
