I’m not a standard wedding vendor; I’m the one actually on the dance floor with you.

I don't believe in 8-hour "shifts" or making you pose like a mannequin.

Think of me as a guest with a camera who never watches the clock.

I stay until the story is told, no curfews, no limits, no boring photos.

I’m based in Maryland, but I’ll go anywhere to make sure your wedding photos don’t look like a checklist of chores.

I’m Matt Maddock, and I’m going to be real with you.

You’ve probably read a dozen "About Me" pages where photographers claim they were "born with a camera" or that "capturing love is their soul's calling."

I’m going to be real with you that wasn’t me.

I started in the film world directing action scenes, comedy skits, and a feature-length documentary. I cared about energy, timing, and making things look cinematic as hell.

I spent years on film sets where the only constant was that something was about to break. It taught me that a wedding isn't a checklist it’s a live production. Because of how my brain is wired, I don’t just "take photos." I’m constantly three steps ahead of the day, anticipating the 1,000 tiny things that could go sideways so you don’t have to.

So when I see a photographer watching the clock or forcing a couple into a stiff, fake pose. It drives me absolutely insane. Because your story isn't a shift, and it definitely shouldn't...

THE DIRECTOR’S BRAIN (RELIABILITY)

I don't hide in the bushes or act like a "vendor." I get the best shots by being part of the party. When I’m on the dance floor with you, people drop their guard and that’s when the real, unscripted magic happens.

NO CURFEWS (ENDURANCE)

Your story doesn't have a curfew. If a last-minute family campfire happens at midnight, I’m there to light it and shoot it. I don't watch the clock; I watch for the moments that actually matter.

We used Mad Dock Media for our wedding in August, and we are still getting compliments on our pictures! Matt was so fun to work with and really added to our day! He captured so many special candid moments between us and our guests. We have already hired him again to photograph a family party!

I’m a firm believer that you shouldn't go into debt for a wedding photographer. If the numbers aren't mathing for you right now, I truly get it. There’s a massive sea of "Standard" photographers in the DMV who will happily clock in for an 8-hour shift.

If you want the energy,the 9:00 AM delivery, the no-curfew madness, and the director's brain—that’s a different conversation entirely.
